For centuries, the pig slaughter was one of the most important moments of the year in many villages. It wasn't just a way to obtain food; it was a tradition that brought families and neighbors together to prepare food for the entire winter.

Today, almost no one witnesses this process. Meat appears in trays at the supermarket, and we've lost our connection to the origins of our food.

In this first episode, I want to explain why pig slaughter was practiced for generations and what its significance was in rural life.

This is the beginning of the documentary about Tofu, the pig I raised for months on the farm.
