There have been a ton of requests for me to go over my credit cards collection in 2024. I've been getting a lot of comments asking what's in my wallet 2025, which credit cards in Canada do I use personally, what's in my wallet credit cards wise, etc. So given all the interest in what's in my wallet Canada related, I decided to make a full video where I go over each credit card I have, and discuss why I own them.
These are all credit cards I use on a daily basis for my own purchases, and I want to share with you which cards I use for which transactions, so that you can have an idea of how I use all these different cards for different purposes. Now my credit cards collection is pretty extensive, so I won't be able to go in too much depth for each card, but I have made in depth video on a lot of these cards in the past, so refer to those videos if you want more info on each card.
One of the best credit cards 2025 Canada is the AMEX Cobalt card, and it happens to be the card that I use most often. This is because with this card I get 5 points on every dollar spent on eats and drinks, as well as 3 points on streaming services, 2 points on travel, and 1 point on all else. Now each point if redeemed towards travel with a partner like Aeroplan or Flying Blue Miles can be worth app to 2 cents per point, which means that you can get up to 10% value back on anything you spend at restaurants, bars, and grocery stores.
Another one of the best credit cards Canada is the AMEX Platinum Card, and I own the business version of this card. Now the AMEX Business Platinum Card costs $800 a year to own, which makes it one of the most expensive credit cards in Canada. That said, this card is by far the best travel credit card Canada 2025, and that is because it offers unlimited access to over 1300 airport lounges across the world for free. As well as that, you get unrivalled perks at countless hotels and resorts. You also get all the coverages necessary for travel and then some, as well as having access to the AMEX concierge service which is like having a full time assistant.
Next up is the American Express SimplyCash Preferred Card. This is one of the best cash back credit cards Canada, although the new Roger Mastercard updates may have surpassed this card in some areas. Even so, this AMEX cash back card offers 4% back on gas & groceries, and 2% cash back on all other purchases.
Next is one of the best no fee credit cards Canada 2025, and that is the Simplii Financial VISA Card. This card gets you 4% cash back at restaurants and bars, which is amazing for a no fee card. I use this card for any restaurant or bar that doesn’t accept AMEX, because otherwise I would use my cobalt card and get up to 10% value back on those transactions.
I also have the Amazon Mastercard, which gets me 2.5% cash back on Amazon purchases. This is a very useful card for me as I buy from Amazon often. That said, the new updates to the Rogers Mastercard makes that a better card to use for these purchases, so once I get that card, I won’t be using the Amazon credit card anymore.
I also have the Scene VISA Card and the CIBC Aventura VISA Card. I don’t use either of these cards anymore as they have been nerfed over the years and they are now fairly useless. The only reason I have kept them open is that they are both free to own, and keeping old credit cards open helps keep your credit score high, whereas closing old card lessens your average length of credit, which in turn lowers your credit score.
Also as a bonus, I still have the crypto.com credit card as well, even though I stopped using this exchange about a year or two ago. The card doesn’t work anymore, but I still have it since it is a metal card, and is visually esthetic.
Overall, to answer what’s in my wallet Canada 2025, I have these best credit cards and I use them in the manner outlined above.
