The peninsula is home to many animals, including: reindeer, Arctic fox, lemming, white owl, partridge, Upland buzzard, sandpiper, red-breasted goose (endemic), eider, long-tailed duck, snow bunting, rose gull, Siberian crane, etc. Among the fish there are: whitefish, char, muksun, pike, burbot, lenok, grayling, Siberian sturgeon, perch, carp, etc. The largest Novoportovsky permafrost is located here - an underground fish storage with a temperature maintained naturally.
