Are you interested in Guild Wars 2 (GW2) but never played Guild Wars 1 (GW1)? Today's video looks at how players who never tried the first game might enjoy the second and how Arenanet has been relying more and more on the Nostalgia of GW1 when creating content for GW2.

Welcome back to Tiny Blue Games! My name is Csaw or Chris, and today we are about Guild Wars 2 in 2021. In the past few GW2 videos I have made I kept bringing up the idea of how much the game has been relying more and more on GW1 nostalgia. This is something that has become more obvious with each expansion as we see the game returning to past regions and even continue stories for characters from the original game. As someone who never played GW1 I kind of have mixed feelings about this. In this video, we discuss the impacts of this type of content on new players, and ultimately hope to answer "Do you need to play GW1 to enjoy GW2"?
👀 Do you think having played GW1 changes your enjoyment of GW2?
