Managing file permissions is one of the most fundamental concepts in Linux still so many use chmod 777 and give full permissions which poses a security risk.
So in this video, we will learn all the Linux basic fundamentals for managing file permissions in Linux. What does each code mean and how we can assign appropriate read, write or execute permissions to different users and groups.
We will learn how to read the list (ls -l) command output and understand what is the current permission level for a specific file. We will then use CHMOD to change the permission of the same to a different access level.
I am sure after watching this video you will understand and assign correct permissions to your file and directories and not simply go for chmod 777😀
