The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering i.e GATE 2021 notification has been released by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay on its official website i.e. www.gate.iitb.ac.in
GATE 2021 Eligibility Conditions
If you are currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program OR completed any government-approved degree program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts are eligible for appearing in the GATE 2021 exam.
AGE LIMIT criteria:
There is NO upper age limit to appear for GATE 2021.
How to apply for GATE 2021?
To apply for GATE 2020 you need to follow certain steps that are:
• Go to the website of GOAPS: www.appsgate.iitb.ac.in
• Click on "New Registration" and enter all the basic details
• Login using your GOAPS Enrolment ID and Password
• Upload photograph, signature and other documents and category certificate (SC / ST /PwD) and/or Dyslexic certificate as applicable.
• Pay the application fee through any of the electronic payment modes
• Click on submit.
GATE 2021 will be taken with Two newly introduced subject papers
• ES (Environmental Science and Engineering)
• XH (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Economics/English/Linguistics/Philosophy/Psychology/ Sociology.
GATE 2021 Important Dates
GATE 2021 Online Application Processing System Website will open on
• 14th September 2020
Closing Date of REGULAR online registration/application portal is
• 30th September 2020
Last End of the EXTENDED period for online registration/application (with late fee) is
• 7th October 2020
Last Date for change of category, paper and examination city (an additional fee will be applicable) is
• 13th November 2020
Admit Card on the Online Application Portal (for download and printing) will be available from
• 8th January 2021
GATE 2021 will held on
5th6th, 7th, 12th, 13th and 14th February 2021
Probably in two shifts
9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and the result will be announced on
• 22nd March 2021
About GATE 2021 Examination:
GATE is taken jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (namely, IITs at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee).
GATE 2021 scorecard will remain valid for three years from the date of announcement of results. It is also used by some Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for their recruitment and by several other universities in India and abroad for admissions.
Qualifying in GATE is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission and/or financial assistance to:
• Master's programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture
• Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Arts and Science, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
GATE 2021: Examination Scheme
All the papers of the GATE 2021 examination will be for three hours duration and they consist of 65 questions for a total of 100 marks. Since the examination is an ONLINE computer-based test (CBT), at the end of the stipulated time (3-hours), the computer screen will automatically close the examination.
