Shadiest Car Salesmen - Stealing More Than Just a Ride
Two car salesmen at a Lawrenceville dealership are accused of defrauding customers out of thousands of dollars by taking down payments for cars but not delivering those cars to the customers. The two men, now terminated, are still at large with warrants issued for their arrest.
Here are some tips to keep you from being taken for a ride:
1️⃣ Do your research. Check out your dealer's reputation and reliability first. Ask friends for recommendations, read business profiles at BBB.org, and search online for complaints or reviews of the dealer you are considering.
2️⃣ If you are required to make a deposit, ask whether it is refundable and under what circumstances, and make sure the information is also included in writing.
3️⃣ And finally, never pay in cash. It’s best to make large purchases by credit card since it has additional protections.
