Just recently, I observed an interesting scene: a tow truck at the side of the road, the driver busily digging out a frozen car that had obviously been parked for a long time. I wondered why they were moving it, since it belonged to someone else. I asked the driver, "Is this car in anyone's way?" The response was terse: "We'll clear the roadway; I'm tired of digging and moving it."
The driver continued his work, attaching the tow rope. I decided not to interfere and moved as far away as possible. My car had to be moved, so I carefully backed away. I stepped outside and saw him lifting it onto the flatbed.
But barely had he loaded it before the driver hurried back behind the wheel. I reminded him, "At least secure it!" but received only an indifferent remark over the phone: "Everything's fine." The tow truck pulled away... and the car immediately fell off the flatbed, landing back on the asphalt. So much for "everything's fine."
