UplinkFast is the Cisco’s proprietary extension to the classic STP (802.1D), which is supported, when switch is running PVST, and designed to run in the switches that have at least one alternate/backup root port. UplinkFast feature is used to transition alternate port in uplink group from blocking to forwarding state.This video shows and example how to configure Spanning-tree Protocol UplinkFast feature. Example is done in the Cisco VIRL.
