Meet the geekiest breed of heroes in a special effects enhanced, live-action adventure comedy for tweens. My Babysitter’s A Vampire is a fun, family-friendly spin on Adventures in Babysitting meets Lost Boys meets Superbad. At the same time, it pokes fun at pop culture phenomena like Twilight and the horror genre in general.
When Ethan Morgan’s over protective parents assigned a babysitter to watch over him and his 8 year old sister, he thought he’d die of embarrassment. But no need to worry: embarrassment is now the last thing on a long list of stuff that wants to kill him and his geeky pals Benny and Rory. Because this babysitter may look like the girl of his dreams, but Sarah just happens to be half-vampire (a “fledgling” for you experts), and she drags Ethan and his buddies into a world of wild supernatural battles against creatures straight out of their nightmares. Now Ethan not only has to take on demons, ghosts, werewolves, and zombies, he still has to get his homework done on time and be in bed by 10.
Ethan also discovers that he’s a “seer,” who gets flashes of the future when he touches anything or anyone with other-worldly energy. And it turns out Benny’s grandma is an “Earth Priestess” (aka “witch”) and she’s teaching him the spell-casting ropes. Meanwhile, Rory learns that you shouldn’t hang out with vampires unless you want to get bitten. Now he’s an immortal bloodsucker too, yet still stays true to his “roots” as a full time goof. Caught in the middle is Sarah, who desperately struggles to resist the fang-frenzy that’s taking over the town of Whitechapel – including her own BFF, Erica.
Season two of My Babysitter’s a Vampire finds Sarah adjusting to the added strength, skills and intense urges of a full-blooded vampire. Sarah, Erica and Rory must all learn to play by the rules of Whitechapel’s Vampire Council (or do their best not to get caught disobeying them). Meanwhile, Ethan refuses to give up on his dreams of both finding a cure for vampirism and getting up the nerve to ask Sarah on a date. Benny has his own challenges as Grandma attempts to school him in the responsibilities of ‘serious’ sorcery, and Rory…well, he’s just finding new ways to fly in and out of trouble. Ethan and his friends soon discover that they and all the local vampires have a mysterious new enemy determined to wipe out the supernatural competition and return Whitechapel to its roots -- its very dark, disturbing roots. This smart fast-paced series reminds kids everywhere that no matter what kind of supernatural villains the world has in store, the scariest thing of all is still: High School!
