Dr. Karam was recently tagged in this TikTok video created by @well_clinic, many people wondering what exactly this procedure is supposed to be doing. This is actually a type of PDO threading, this particular thread lift claiming to provide an "instant skin lift", collagen stimulation, and cellular renewal. As Dr. Karam has shared in many of his previous videos, PDO threads are not the anti-aging miracle they claim to be. There are a few reasons why Dr. Karam is not a fan of this particular kind of PDO threading. First, since there are so many needles being injected into the skin, this heightens the risk of infection, and it can potentially injure the surface of your skin. In addition to that, these needles are being injected into subcutaneous fat, which is not what needs collagen stimulation. At the end of the day, the potential for damage to the skin is far greater than the actual, proven benefits. Besides that, the results of treatments like this do not last.
