Elk Knob State Park
This is one of my favorite spots for a winter hike in North Carolina 🥶 I did this one when it was covered in snow a few years ago and returned to hike it again more recently!Hike details ⬇️📍 Elk Knob Summit Trail🥾 3.8mi out & back💪🏼 Moderate🐶 Pet-friendly❗ Important info: It gets VERY cold and windy, so make sure to pack lots of layers! Also, take your microspikes for this one. There was a good bit of ice on the trail. And one more thing: Make sure to check the current hours at Elk Knob State Park before you go as they shut and lock the gate after hours.
