In this video, we are given a cantilever beam, linearly distributed load, and upside down T-section and asked to find: (a) draw the normal stress profile at the maximum moment and (b) calculate the resultant force in the flange.

Part 1 shows how to draw the shear and moment diagrams, calculates the maximum moment, and calculates the centroid and moment of inertia of the cross-section.

Part 2 shows the calculation for normal stresses, draws the stress profile over the section, and calculates the force resultant in the flange.
