Segment Bending - Making a Series of small bends in a pre-determined location on the conduit to fabricate a larger radius.
In this video I educate you on the process of fabricating a segment bend. At first glance it might seem like a lot to do but its not.
IMPORTANT REMINDER
{ Don't forget to add onto the radius for kindorf support or whatever other clearance you might add. This is important. }
The steps are really easy to do you just need a little practice and patience.
If you are working with EMT and you are able to cut it down to the measurement you want after you bend the stub. I advise you to make it a lot easier and just place your marks towards the middle of the conduit or where ever you decide and don't worry too much about finding the center of the degree of bend you choose because you can always cut it to the size you want afterwards. I gave you this formula so that you can also choose to bend more precisely, should you need to. For example when bending rigid conduit. Even though i'm telling you not to worry to much about some of these steps when bending EMT its still very good info to know so that if you ever need it you have the info on how to do it correctly.
Formula
Radius x 1.57 = Developed Length
Dev. Length / # of Bends = Spacing between bends
of Bends = degree of bends
