The Untold Story of Somnath: The Temple That Refused to Die
सोमनाथ पर बनी यह डॉक्यूमेंट्री मेरे जीवन के सबसे करीब और सबसे विशेष प्रोजेक्ट्स में से एक है। इसे बनाते समय मैंने सिर्फ इतिहास को नहीं जाना, बल्कि उसे महसूस किया है।
सोमनाथ की गौरवशाली गाथा, बार बार हुए आक्रमण और हर बार उसके पुन:र्निर्माण की कहानी, प्रभास क्षेत्र की दिव्यता, और उसके पीछे छिपा अद्भुत स्वाभिमान इस पूरी यात्रा ने मुझे भीतर तक भावुक कर दिया। जितना मैं सोमनाथ को समझता गया, उतना एहसास हुआ कि यह मंदिर सनातन सभ्यता का प्रतीक है, जिसने कभी झुकना स्वीकार नहीं किया।
इस डॉक्यूमेंट्री में सोमनाथ का इतिहास, उसकी अद्भुत वास्तुकला, उससे जुड़ी अनकही कथाएँ, आध्यात्मिक महत्व, और अनगिनत गौरवगाथाओं को बेहद भावनात्मक और भव्य रूप में प्रस्तुत करने का प्रयास किया गया है। प्रभास पाटण में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की अंतिम यात्रा से लेकर, आक्रमणों के बाद बार-बार खड़े हुए सोमनाथ तक... इस कहानी का हर अध्याय आस्था, त्याग, पीड़ा और गर्व से भरा हुआ है।
सोमनाथ प्राण प्रतिष्ठा के 75 वर्ष पूर्ण होने के अवसर पर इस डॉक्यूमेंट्री का रिलीज़ होना इसे मेरे लिए और भी अधिक विशेष बना देता है। इस प्रोजेक्ट के दौरान “सोमनाथ स्वाभिमान पर्व” को समझना मेरे लिए एक बेहद भावुक अनुभव रहा। तभी समझ आया कि सोमनाथ सिर्फ इतिहास में नहीं बसता… वह करोड़ों लोगों की आस्था और भावनाओं में जीवित है।
पूरी ईमानदारी से कहूँ तो, यह उन कुछ चीज़ों में से है जिन्हें बनाने पर मुझे जीवनभर गर्व रहेगा।
अगर इस डॉक्यूमेंट्री को देखने के बाद एक भी व्यक्ति अपने इतिहास, अपनी जड़ों और सनातन धर्म से पहले से अधिक जुड़ाव महसूस करे… तो मेरे लिए इस पर लगाया गया हर एक पल सफल हो जाएगा। हर हर महादेव। 🚩
This documentary on Somnath is one of the closest and most special things I have ever created. From its timeless history, the stories of destruction and rebuilding, the spiritual energy of Prabhas Kshetra, to the unmatched pride and resilience behind Somnath — every single chapter left me emotional while making it.
The more I explored Somnath, the more I realised that it is not just a temple. It is the symbol of a civilization that refused to bow down.
This documentary beautifully captures the history, architecture, untold stories, spiritual significance, and the countless legends connected to Somnath Mahadev. From Shri Krishna’s final journey in Prabhas Patan, the mysteries and brilliance behind the temple’s construction, to the repeated rebuilding of Somnath after invasions — every part of this story carries immense faith, sacrifice, pain, and pride.
Releasing this around the 75th anniversary of Somnath’s Pran Pratishtha makes it even more meaningful. And learning about Somnath Swabhiman Parva while creating this project genuinely changed something within me. It made me understand why Somnath is not just remembered in history, but deeply felt in the hearts of millions.
I can honestly say this is one of the proudest things I have ever been a part of creating.
If even one person finishes this documentary feeling more connected to our civilization, our roots, and the spirit of Sanatan Dharma… then every second spent making this was worth it.
