Britain's Hidden WWII Bunkers | Defending Europe | National Geographic UK

Over 600 bunkers were constructed around the coast of Britain, as part of a resistance network during WWII. A civilian fighting force was trained in various pursuits including sabotage and wireless operation, to be called upon should the Axis powers invade. This bunker was intended for a wireless operator, who would gather information on the invading army. The bunkers had no escape tunnel, so should the bunker be found, the operators would likely give their life. Britain's guerilla civilian forces were never called into action and many of these bunkers are still intact today.
