Cape Breton Reels with Andrea Beaton | Beinn Mhàbu April 2023
Here's part of a MSR group that Andrea Beaton taught the YTV Touring Group for the Cape Breton tour in April 2023. We played Little Donald in the Pigpen and Rannie MacLellan's by Brenda Stubbert at Beinn Mhàbu, in Mabou, Cape Breton NS. We had an amazing time touring around the island and playing for schools, meeting folks in the community, going to several dances, visiting CBU and the Celtic Music Interpretive Centre, taking workshops with Cape Breton musicians, and performing at venues across the island! Young Tradition Vermont (YTV) at Vermont Folklife programs use traditional music and dance to ensure young people have opportunities to be inspired and inspiring, to learn and teach, to perform, and to serve the communities they live in and visit. The Touring Group is an auditioned trad band of teen musicians, singers, and dancers who focus on learning traditional music and dance repertoire, performing in Vermont and then heading out for a cultural & performance tour.
