Despite its small size, your future baby is becoming more and more human-like. Their head is no longer as large as it was two weeks ago. The eyes are moving toward the center of the face, and their body is starting to develop a downy coat. The fetus has all the bones and muscles, and the rudiments of twenty baby teeth have formed in their gums. They have a sense of taste, and vocal cords are developing. The intestines, which developed outside the baby's body, are retracting into the abdomen, and the pancreas is producing insulin. You're certainly pleased to know that your baby can already smile.

The last week of the first trimester has arrived, and you can breathe a sigh of relief, as the risk of miscarriage is now very low. The most important period in your baby's development is behind you. Some couples report that their sex life intensifies in the second trimester. You're calmer, your libido is heightened, and you feel more energetic. At the same time, your body is already preparing for the birth of your baby, and your breasts are beginning to produce colostrum—a nutrient- and vitamin-rich fluid that will be your baby's first food after birth.

Many women find the second trimester to be the easiest period of pregnancy. Take advantage of it! Enjoy your pregnancy and do what you enjoy. While many airlines may refuse you travel in the final months of pregnancy, you can still travel freely now. Just listen to your body and don't overexert yourself. Before traveling to exotic destinations, be sure to consult your doctor about vaccinations. During the flight, drink plenty of water, stretch your legs frequently, and, if possible, walk.
