There is no doubt that gravity batteries will change the world! Gravity batteries include hydroelectric generators, mine gravity batteries, Crane power gravity batteries, Piston Power gravity batteries and many more.

Pumped hydro storage is a form of gravity battery. They are built by building a reservoir uphill from a lake. When the generator is making excess energy, water is pumped up to the reservoir so the generating capacity isn't wasted. When the extra energy is needed, the water is allowed to flow downhill and turn a turbine to make electricity again.

Old Mines can also be used as gravity batteries. It is a simple matter to build a hollow steel cylinder suspended by cables in an abandoned, worked-out mine. That could be filled with loose rock and concrete poured from above. Electric winches could lower it to generate power and could lift it to store energy when there is excess generation.

Another promising design for gravity batteries is Crane power. Designed on exactly the same principle as construction cranes used for building office towers, this uses three such cranes, but they are stacked vertically and extend equally in both directions.
Using blocks of concrete that mass 23 metric tonnes each, one of the cranes raises two blocks at the same time (one on each end for balance). It uses excess electrical generation capacity to stack them around itself. Once the energy is needed the crane lowers the blocks and the motion generates electricity.
Gravity batteries are important because Renewable energy sources like Solar energy, wind Energy, and Tide energy are not constant the problem is that sometimes their renewable energy sources generate energy that is more than we currently need so storing that energy using Lithium Ion batteries is very expensive. This is where the concept of a Gravity battery comes in.
