One of the most common questions I get asked is: What’s the best paper for colored pencils? The truth is, there’s no single “right” answer - different papers give different results depending on your style and technique.
In this video, I put five papers to the test:
Strathmore Colored Pencil Paper
Arteza Hot Press Watercolour Paper
Strathmore Bristol Board
Standard Printer Paper
I draw the same ladybird on a flower bud on each one, and compare the results side by side. At the end, I’ll share my honest thoughts on which I prefer.
