What can I say about @jonbellion ? Jon is probably my favorite artist of all time. When I discovered his music, I was amazed by his level of talent. Dude is a gifted/creative songwriter, a dope producer, an amazing singer, and a great rapper. He also seems to be a great human being as well. At some point, I had to cover one of his tracks. I actually didn't want to do it for quite some time though, because I didn't want to mess with his "babies." Something about not wanting to mess with perfection or close to perfection.
I finally decided on doing "80's Films" just because I also have a love of the old 80's /John Hughes type films, and I find myself to be nostalgic of those films and those times as well. I wanted to do it differently while keeping the essence of the original.
I ended up really lucking out and got some great people to help out on this track to make it a reality.
We had Jason Bentch with the arrangement, production, and also on piano! Great job Jason. Making up the string quartet, we had Ryan Delahoussaye (violinist from Blue October) on violin and viola, Benjamin Alan Levy on violin, and Mic Vredenburgh on cello. Last but not least, we had Scott Garrett Graham engineering and helping to bring us all together. Massive thank you to all of you for your work on this and for helping to make this track a reality. We recorded this in July 2021 at Orb Studios in Austin, TX. Also want to give a shout out to Nick Proctor for the amazing cover art!
Thank you Jon for the inspiration and for being you. You sir are a true inspiration, and someone I will always look up to. 😊
