American village was originally created as a little piece of the USA in Okinawa for the US Servicemen and women stationed on the island after WWII.
Today more than 80,000 American servicemen and women and their families live and work in Okinawa playing a vital role in protecting this amazing and very important part of the world

American village is filled with American stores and restaurants but also some amazing local ones too and in this video my friend Duey and I taste test some of Okinawa's local food at Kanasanya restaurant.

If you go to Okinawa I highly recommend you look them up. The food is amazing, the service was great and when we visited on a Saturday night they even had a guy playing the sanshin - a local instrument - that really added to our experience.
