Welcome to Petra here in Jordan
Heading up to the monastery here
there’s I think 800 steps so
getting our legs in shape
you can hire a donkey
but we’re too macho for that
So behind me is the monastery
it was 800 steps to get up here
and as you can see it was well worth it
Ladies and gentlemen
the end of the world
Behind me is the treasury of Petra
it’s called the treasury because it was believed
that this is where they stored all of their jewels
but in truth it is a mausoleum
Welcome to Little Petra
behind me is the temple of Dhu Shara
which means owner of the Shara Mountains
And this was used for camel caravans
so the king would come all the way out here
whenever the camels came in and greet the people
that was his duty
and he made sure to serve wine
so that’s pretty cool too
So this is Petra
what an amazing day we had at the
ancient city in Jordan
in the Middle East
