2024 movies ranked
listen, I'm gonna be real... 2024 was a pretty bad year for movies
That was always my joke with Thelma the Unicorn... it was my #1 movie all year not because it was a 10/10 film, but just because it was somewhat enjoyable! Carry-On was a 9 out of 10. Good, but definitely not perfect. And sadly... just a bit better than Thelma. Compared to years past (2023's Spiderverse 2, 2022's Puss in Boots 2), there were no amazing standouts, just some pretty good movies.
And no, I haven't seen everything yet... but aside from another smaller-scale surprise like Carry-On, I don't think I missed much. Alien Romulus and Trap look interesting, but neither looks like a smash success.
2025 has promise. Superman, the Bad Guys 2, Zootopia 2... I'm excited. But for me, 2024 was kind of mid. Here's hoping 2025 delivers ;)
