04: Advanced Layering of Xrefs for Line Weights
Each externally referenced file can have a layer assigned to it. Since the lines within each dwg piece are on Layer0, they will soak up the layer color assigned to the outside. This means that you can maintain the link between your SketchUp model and the 2d CAD drawings. This will make updating consultant drawings easy, and give them the ability to assign their own line weights, adhering to their own standards, without breaking the link. They just overwrite their backgrounds and the layering stays.
