This video is going to show you how to make the subtitles with transparent background bar in Shotcut.
Step 1: use the MS Paint application to create a background template image filled with grey color
Step 2: create the video track for the video file
Step 3: create a new video track for the background template image
Step 4: add the "Size and Position" filter item for the background template image
Step 5: adjust the size and position for the background template image, don't forget to select the size mode as "Distort"
Step 6: add the "Opacity" filter item for the background template image
Step 7: adjust the "Level" option of the "Opacity" to make the background image transparent
Step 8: create a new video track and add a transparent color
Step 9: add the "Text" filter item for this transparent color and adjust its size and position so as to make the text within the area of the background transparent image
Step 10: change the "Text" filter item's font, font size, horizontal fit and vertical fit options.
Step 11: input the subtitle in the "Text" filter item's text option
Step 12: test the result
