Today's math problem comes from one of my tutoring students. This geometry problem involves finding an irregular shaded area and requires you to know about and use information regarding equilateral triangles, the angles of an equilateral triangle, area of a triangle 30-60-90 triangles, area of a circle, and area of a sector.
I'll take you through the math principles at work in this problem as well as teach you the 30-60-90 triangle formula, the formulas for area of a triangle and circle, and how to find the area of a sector.
