Newspapers are delivered and read every day by a major section of our population. With a sudden boom in technology, we are receiving news notifications/articles directly on our smartphones. The problem is that if we don’t know the general scenario leading to that article we don’t get the gist of it. This app will help solve this problem by giving a list of all the links that are related to the topics mentioned in the article. The major objective of our project will be to develop a user-friendly app that revolves around one of the various applications of OCR. We are aiming at developing a system that lets the user click a snap of an article in a newspaper (English) and the data obtained provides the user with all the web links of articles related to that particular news. The “Newspaper Reader” is an optical character recognition based application which helps the user to immediately get the news articles related to the article that the user is currently reading from a newspaper by just clicking its picture from his/her smartphone. The application should be free to download from either a mobile phone application store or similar services. People who feel the need to dig a little deeper would be benefitted. This app would save time for people searching various articles related to a particular incident. Also, it will act as an archive for links of articles users save.
