Unique data count in Excel using pivot table | Distinct Count | Dashboard in excel | Bangla Tutorial
You can use a pivot table in Excel to count the number of unique items in a list, which is also known as the "distinct count". Here's how to do it:
Select the range of cells that contains the data you want to count.
Click on the "Insert" tab and select "PivotTable" from the "Tables" group.
In the "Create PivotTable" dialog box, select the range of cells that contains the data you want to count, and choose where to place the pivot table. Click "OK".
In the "PivotTable Fields" pane, drag the field you want to count to the "Values" area.
By default, the pivot table will count the number of occurrences of each item in the field. To change this to a distinct count, right-click on the field in the "Values" area and select "Value Field Settings". Choose "Distinct Count" and click "OK".
The pivot table will now display the distinct count of each item in the field.
You can also create a dashboard in Excel using the pivot table. Here's how to do it:
Insert a chart, such as a column chart or a pie chart, by clicking on the "Insert" tab and selecting the chart type from the "Charts" group.
Click on the chart to select it, then go to the "Design" tab and select "Select Data" from the "Data" group.
In the "Select Data Source" dialog box, click on the "Add" button under "Legend Entries (Series)".
In the "Edit Series" dialog box, enter a name for the series and select the range of cells that contains the data for the series. Click "OK".
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each series you want to add to the chart.
You can customize the chart further by adding titles, labels, and formatting.
You can also add slicers to the dashboard to allow the user to filter the data. To add a slicer, click on the pivot table, then go to the "Options" tab and select "Insert Slicer" from the "Slicers" group. Choose the field you want to use for the slicer and click "OK".
