This virtual demonstration helps visualize how the theoretical circuit translates into practical output, reinforcing understanding before moving to physical hardware implementation.

Simple Example of Half-Wave Rectifier Circuit Simulation

This example illustrates how a basic half-wave rectifier circuit behaves when simulated in circuit design software such as Multisim, LTspice, or Proteus. The simulation closely mimics the behavior of actual hardware, showing how the circuit processes the input AC signal to produce a rectified output.

Circuit Configuration:
The simulation uses a simple setup—an AC voltage source connected in series with a single diode and a load resistor, exactly as shown in a standard circuit diagram.

Simulation Output:
When simulated:

During the positive half-cycle, the diode conducts, allowing current to flow and generating a positive voltage across the load resistor.

During the negative half-cycle, the diode blocks current flow, resulting in zero output voltage.

Output Waveform:
The simulation visually displays the output waveform as a series of positive half-sine pulses, confirming the rectifying action of the diode.
