Euphoria actors are speaking out on a potential nudity problem with the show
Hey guys welcome back to another SNFH, if you watch euphoria you know that it’s basically rated x due to how graphic it is, but is this a problem because of the creators?
Many actors from the show have been doing a lot of press since the premiere of season 2
A common theme in all of these interviews that comes up is the topic of the excessive nudity
Minka Kelly who has been a guest star during season 2 playing a rich mom of a kid who maddy babysits just spoke with vanity fair about her appearance
She revealed that her character was supposed to be naked during her very first scene
Her character is seen coming back home from a night out, and she asks maddy to help unzip her dress
Initially, sam levinson wanted her dress to come off and fall to the ground
Minka said "That was my first day as a guest on this new show, and I just didn't feel comfortable standing there naked."
She ended up telling sam that she wanted to do the scene but keep her dress on, to which sam said okay with no hesitation
Sydney Sweeney whose character is seen nude the most in the show also talked about some nudity scenes that she actually asked to be cut from the show
She said that there were scenes where her character was supposed to be nude, and she would tell sam that she felt it was unnecessary and he agreed with her
Similarly, Chloe cherry who plays faye was also asked to do a nude scene on her very first day on set
She said that she met sam only for a brief moment before having to do a nude scene, but it ended up getting cut
She said she would’ve felt comfortable doing it had she gotten to know sam a little more beforehand
Alexa demie who plays maddy said that the nudity was tough for her at first, but it pulled her out of her comfort zone and she realized it’s not that serious
Zendaya on the other hand made sure to establish in her contract that she wouldn’t do any nude scenes
Although the show has been praised, it’s also been constantly criticized by fans because of the amount of nudity
People have even accused sam of being creepy due to the amount of nude scenes he wanted
It’s also been said that sam and barbie ferreira who plays cat have some tension behind the scenes, causing a lot of her scenes to be cut from season 2 after she allegedly stormed off of the set
Regardless, the show has been greenlit for a season 3
Maybe after all of this criticism from fans and even the actors themselves, the show will change its ways once they start filming season 3. But i have faith in zendaya being the executive producer that she won’t let anyone on set feel uncomfortable or have scenes go too over the line.
