My Worst Enemy, a piece involving and evolving the most difficult internal conflict for each human being, which may come in different forms, but infect the body in the same way. Whether it be external insecurities, past failures or mistakes, continuous wrongdoing, drug abuse, eating disorders, depression, addiction, every person struggles with the monster living within. In "My Worst Enemy", the monsters within attempt to overtake the subject through the inside. The audience and subject realize the monster's potential, and how difficult it may be to overcome. Symbolicly, the piece raises questions as, "how long has this monster been living inside of me?" "what is the origin or purpose of this monster?" "how can I rid myself of this monster and all that it represents?" and finally the potential realization of: "does this monster living in me, make me who I am today, and if so, how can I live with it peacefully?" Really, the piece is a personal journey, it is THE personal journey that everyone goes through in life. Some people never realize they have a monster and suppress it their entire life, some find their monster early and realize all they have to do is be able to look at the monster for their ability to tame it. "The only one holding you back, is yourself."
