In this behind-the-scenes shoot, we put the Godox V480 to the test in some pretty tough lighting conditions. Using the Godox X Pro trigger paired with the Sony A9 and the versatile Tamron 35-150mm lens, we tackled harsh sunlight by bringing the flash off-camera and pairing it with a simple umbrella modifier to soften the light.
To balance the bright environment, we used High-Speed Sync (HSS) with flash power set between 1/4 and 1/2, giving us clean, well-lit portraits even in less-than-ideal conditions.
This setup is proof that you don’t need perfect light to create beautiful images—just the right tools and a little creativity.
