Custom Fan Curve VS Normal Fan Curve
IMO a custom fan curve is a must. Every pc is different so each fan curve will be different. I messed with mine over and over till I landed on this current one and never looked back. No crazy ramp up when loading a game or anything. Yes with my setup the temps go a bit higher but still stay way below any danger (and I mean WAY BELOW). I prefer less noise personally but you can set your fan curve to anything.
