squad fps guide (old)
Hello everyone, lets boost some frames
first, devs recommend clearing cached user data
warning, this will reset your existing settings
next, go to steam, right click squad and click properties
add '-dx12' to the launch options to run in directx 12
only found out about this a day ago but it seems to help
might cause some visual bugs
next we launch squad and select these settings: (settings shown in video)
I've always left audio quality to high because it says low quality is intended for older systems, but i tested it a few days ago and the low option gives me more stable frame rates when guns are firing. Audio quality is of course lowered and audio bugs are present, but i'm using low quality
Next, we will reduce the quality of shadows. Close squad and Go to C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Local\SquadGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and open 'Engine'
add the following to the bottom then save:
[SystemSettings]
r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=0
r.Shadow.MaxResolution=16
r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0
r.Shadow.DistanceScale=0
r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale=0
r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=16
