Welcome to the latest update for Escape from Tarkov, version 0.14.6.0!
This patch brings a host of changes and improvements to the game. They have adjusted several in-game features to enhance your gaming experience, such as reducing the base inertia strength, aim punch effect, blur effect when taking damage, and camera shake effect while shooting.
They have also made significant changes to body hitbox penetration mechanics. If the round's penetration power stat is higher than the hitbox penetration threshold, the body hitbox will always be penetrated. However, the bullet's damage and penetration power will be reduced once it penetrates the body hitbox, which means that the next body hitbox will receive less damage. The extent of this damage reduction depends primarily on the round's penetration power stat, followed by the round's calibre and the body part's hitbox penetration threshold.
In addition, they have reworked armour penetration. If the round's penetration power stat is 15 or more than the armour's effective durability, it will guarantee penetration. However, ammo penetration may decrease after colliding with armour, body hitboxes, or obstacles.
