DIRT TIME #1 Wildcamp in a Swamp
Welcome to DIRT TIME, a miniseries about: 1) spending time outdoors, 2) enjoying nature and 3) practicing bushcraft while acknowledging the principles of “Leave No Trace.” In episode #1, I explored the pineywoods near my home in east Texas, USA. This small patch of land has no human-made trails and no trash. This lack of disturbance is perhaps, because land is below the flood plain and road access is minimal.
This is a perfect location for DIRT TIME. Precautions were taken to minimize my impact. I avoided making trails by walking randomly from location to location on durable surfaces. I dispersed my usage of the land by selecting different areas for different purposes: bushcraft skill practice, meditation, cooking and sleeping.
