Restoring 1956 MS Bergensfjord Model by Art Model Studios
A bit of tedious work perfecting a minor alteration of the model's bow. This particular travel agency display was built in a larger scale than the typical Arthur G. Henning model. But in spite of the larger scale, it has fewer details by comparison to other ocean liner models from its era. It also appears that the model maker may not have had the level of experience usually associated with Henning's model makers, and the finish work was less than perfect. Regardless, I debated whether or not to tweak to the model's original form. But, in the end, there is no question that the repair followed on from the original model maker's intention, which was to create an accurate and attractive replica of the Norwegian America Line vessel.
