[How it works] How does our brain learn to read?
Each hemisphere of the brain is divided into five large regions, each subdivided into smaller areas called cerebral areas. There are currently nearly 200 of these per hemisphere, all unique. Each cerebral area brings together sets of neurons specialized in very specific functions such as vision, hearing, and language. In our brain, learning to read requires the collaboration of several brain regions. Discover in this video which regions are involved in reading and how they interact with each other.
