Who hasn’t dreamt of being a member of one of those elusive 3 letter agencies, combatting the likes of gang and terrorist activity and oh so much more.
In order to get in you need to be between the ages of 23 and 36, have a driver's license, a bachelor's degree and at least 2 years or relevant work experience , be a US Citizen and have a squeaky clean record.
This includes not having used the devils lettuce in any form or anywhere in the last year as well as not having used illegal substances in the last 10 years. So that’s 90% of you lot out already.
You will then need to complete some initial tests, interviews and background checks, this process can take around a year to fully complete. If you pass you’ll begin the Basic Field Training course. This lasts 16 weeks and takes place at the academy in Quantico.
This includes the physical fitness test requiring you to get at leasts 12 points in sit ups, a 300m sprint, push ups, a 1.5 mile run and pull ups. The BFTC also includes 100 hours of Firearms training, operational skills such as tactical driving, electronic surveillance and investigative skills, case exercises and academics, from law and interrogation to forensic and behavioral science.
Once the BFTC is complete you’ll pack up and move again to one of the 56 field office locations around the US. In a 20 year career you’ll likely be transferred and move to a new city twice.
Your probationary period lasts 2 years where you will continue with on the job training after Quantico.
