MEAT GRINDER is a new video project aimed at showcasing MCs' live performance skills, the proverbial skills and flow. The selection of MCs doesn't depend on our personal preferences. The artist presents exclusive material, either previously unheard tracks or tracks written specifically for the show. During the meeting on the day of the shoot, we present a selection of well-known instrumentals (in a style familiar and distinct from the MC's previous work), with the choice always being up to the participant (we don't discourage anyone from performing their verse a cappella). We allocate two takes for the shoot and select the best one. Maximum live emotion, maximum "live."
So, here's the first episode.
We met with D.Masta near a St. Petersburg studio. He pulled up in his 220 with Sultan, a member of Alexander Emelianenko's M-1 team. For D, we chose a few dubstep, grime, and classic instrumentals. Imagine our surprise when he chose "Digi Warfare" by Masta Killa. D explained his choice by saying he's been a longtime Wu fan. For the release, D. Masta rapped the previously known but reimagined "Wings Spread" over the Caspa Essential Mix and the fresh track "New Style," both tracks from the upcoming mixtape "Space Hero."
