DEVON D'MARCO PROJECT MC² DOLL PLUS EXPERIMENT REVIEW [DEVON'S PUFFY PAINT]

My daughter was really excited to try Devon's puffy paint, so we unboxed and reviewed our new Project MC2 Devon D'Marco doll tonight. First, let's talk about the doll.
Devon D'Marco is a beautiful doll. Like all Project MC2 dolls, she has inset eyes and rooted lashes and looks like a real girl (maybe not exactly like the actress who plays her, but still she looks like a human being, vs. a fairy tale character). Her eyes are a light violet color, and the irises are very detailed. Devon D'Marco's lips look like she is wearing lip gloss and her cheeks look to be lightly blushed, both of which are nice touches.
Devon's long black hair is tied up in a ponytail, and has blue streaks running through it. She wears a 3-piece outfit consisting of an inner tank shirt that is black and white and adorned with the number "0," a black and white jacket (I especially like the white mesh sleeves that contrast with the black pleather in the middle), and black and white pants decorated with stick figures posing at various angles. I love Devon D'Marco's boots - they have a very high, chunky heel and also spills of paint on the top front section towards the toes.
Devon D'Marco comes with a backpack that is very functional - it opens and it fits nicely over her arms. She also wears a pair of earrings that look like a silver nut driven through a silver bolt. I think the doll is very pretty , but I do have one complaint: Devon's joints are much too loose and her knees, hips, and head are very "bendy." She has a difficult time standing without a doll stand (and yet she does not come with one).
What Devon DOES come with is an experiment - you can make your own puffy paint, provided you have the right household items. The doll comes with two paint tubes (along with caps and nozzles) and a beaker comb and a set of instructions - you have to bring the rest, including flour, salt, mixing bowls, and some kind of coloring agent (I used food coloring).
As for the puffy paint, perhaps we just didn't mix it right. The first part came out runny, and then after a while, the rest would not even come out of the tube. The paint itself was serviceable, but was rather lumpy and definitely looked amateur when we made it - I can only hope others have better luck, because I think it would have been awesome to have had it work!
