Snake bite data in indian hospitals: The Suraweera study (2020) shows that among hospital-presenting bites, about 70% involve envenomation warranting antivenom.
But when looking at all snakebites (including non-venomous and unreported mild ones), non-venomous snakes and dry bites do skew the data — they make the total number of "victims" much higher than the number who actually need antivenom.
