Maintaining (and Breaking) Sync Across Extreme Loop Transformations with the Blooper and EDP
We recently looked at the Blooper's ability to automatically retrigger itself, to stay aligned with a clock master across changing loop lengths. Here, we take that idea a few steps further, adding some radical Echoplex Digital Pro functions to the equation. We put the EDP through a variety of extreme loop manipulations, deliberately changing its loop length and start point throughout. The Blooper follows the EDP's lead, only breaking sync during overdubs, and then re-establishing sync when overdubbing is done.
Not gonna lie: between shifting synchronization, changing loop lengths, start point manipulations, and a pretty strange overall musical vibe, this is a weird one. As the saying goes: if you like this kind of thing, then this is the kind of thing that you'll like.
