One of the advantages of using Elastic Search is the horizontal scalability it offers. This is achieved through Nodes, which are nothing more than Elastic Search instances running on different machines.

We call a group of instances a cluster. And in each instance we have shards and replicas, which give us greater fault tolerance and responsiveness.

In this way, we have more secure and recoverable information of the documents that rest in the Elastic Search indexes.

This series of concepts is what encompasses the Elastic Search architecture, and that's what we're talking about today.
