We made this vegan chana dal recipe and included the English written recipe in the description for you to try. If you have any question about this chana daal recipe feel free to ask in the comment. Also please let me know if we should make a longer version of the video. Thank you.

Ingredients:
1 cup chana dal (or split chickpeas)
3 cups of water
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
For Tempering The Chana Dal
½ cup finely chopped onions
1 tsp ginger paste
4 cloves medium-sized garlic – finely chopped
1 green chilli
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
½ teaspoon red chilli powder (optional)
1 teaspoon coriander powder
coriander leaves for garnishing (optional)

Method:
First, boil the Dahl with 3 cups of water in a pressure cooker or on a stove, but if you do it on the stove add a little bit more water and boil for longer. Also if you are doing on the stove you may need to soak the dal night before which will reduce the boiling times significantly.

When boiling the dal is done you can make the Tarka. Tarka is an Indian cooking term which means tempering the spaces. It is very simple but this Tarka has a few different more spaces than are usual deal recipes. This is why it makes the chana dal really delicious and still stays is suitable for vegan or vegetarian.

We start by frying the chopped onions and when the onions are nicely glazed we add all other spices except for the garnish and just let the spices blend together and you will get that fresh aroma of the spices. Once you see the spices are getting dark brown, it should be sizzling hot at that moment, pour the boiled daal in the Tarka. This stage you can balance the consistency of the recipe by adding a bit more water if you want to and also perfecting the seasoning. In the meantime as soon as the chana daal is boiled it should be ready to serve with or without the garnish.

Garnish is optional but it will definitely add an extra bit of flavour and nice look to the recipe. I didn't add it. Typical in-home cooking you would only add garnishes if you have them available so for the time being I just skip this part and the recipe doesn't have to stop there so just enjoy how it is and still it is Delicious.

So, guys, I hope this kind of recipes are helpful for you to follow and do it by yourself.
