It's time for a new episode of Lets Talk About Butt Stuff! Don't go getting it twisted we're talking Crohn's disease butt stuff...not the fun kind. This series has become my chronic illness vlog as I document my journey with ibd and more specifically complex perianal Crohn's disease. My name is Barrett Laurie and I suffer from inflammatory bowel disease.
This episode focuses on my husband Rick Laurie as he answers some questions that I received from several people who watch this playlist. The Impact of Crohn's on Spouses is for the caregivers and people that love us through the tough stuff.
After a chronic illness day in the life this summer a viewer messaged me and asked about Ricky's specific routine to keep us healthy during the pandemic. After we did the Husbands Tag video back in December I got a message from another viewer asking if Ricky could give some advice for what to expect the first year your spouse is diagnosed, and any advice. We also remind caregivers to ask themselves, "are you okay?"
While this isn't an exhaustive video it is a a brief overview of what we thought most couples should know and think about when powering through pain with love.
Expect videos in this series on the surgeries I've had, my experience with colonoscopies, MRIs, going to battle with insurance over Remicade infusions, and my experiences with immunosuppressants and other treatments.
