Hydroculus 064 - West Elynas Three Seelie Ruins Puzzle
It's time for Hydroculus Shorts until a full guide comes much later!
Hydroculus 064 might be earlier for some than I, but this one has a couple steps. You might start or solve this one while on the Beryl Region’s Daily Commission “Overland Bubbles”, which has you reaching various checkpoints from start to finish, ending at some ruins on the west coast.
To obtain the Hydroculus, it is very high in midair with no ready way to get up to it and high enough you might not even know it’s there until completing the puzzle which requires 3 Seelie to open a chest. While all 3 Seelie are in crumbling building ruins, the first for me was unique. The standard way to obtain it is to simply drop down into the double-gated ruin and the Seelie will trigger the gates to open from the inside. I didn’t notice this until later though and my gates were both wide open. This is most likely caused by the closing trigger being a treasure pouch you pass over while completing the Commission but I did not see the opening trigger which may be tied to the nearby spiral staircase time trial challenge as collecting the treasure bag does not open the portcullis. Either way, collect this Seelie and move it to the statue near the bound chest.
The second Seelie is nearby in another ruin where 3 Hydro Jugs need to be triggered. Do this by collecting the 3 Hydro droplets nearby, forming a core to create steady Hydro energy. Once done, the gate below you will open, presenting a Seelie and a water jet bubble taking you back to the treasure area.
The third Seelie is in another nearby ruin behind a portcullis locked by a Peneuma / Ousia puzzle. Go to the roof of the building ruins and obtain the opposing energy particles to open the gate, granting access to the Seelie behind a ruined wall.
Once all three Seelie are back at their courts, open the treasure chest to obtain Primogems and transform into a water bubble, landing on a high platform. Thankfully, you have a wind buff to allow for very high jumping to reach the other platforms. A Hydroculus is at the very top.
