Headaches, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, functional tunnel vision... symptoms this classic SEE Sick Syndrome(SSS) patient had, were eliminated by doing only 14 days of Dynamic Adaptive Vision therapy at home along with office visits for evaluation and instruction with Dr. Roderic Gillilan. The only equipment used in the office and at home was a lettered ball on a string and two pencils. This video was taken in 1982 and the patient is still symptom free 30 years later, which is the norm in these cases.
The SSS is a unique form of motion sickness in which the patient is hyper-sensitive to visual and eye motion. In addition to the headaches, nausea, dizziness an/or fatigue ("normal" symptoms of motion sickness) SSS sufferers develop a hyper-sensitivity to light, due to the constant stress, and some develop "functional" tunnel vision, as a defense mechanism to reduce the appearance of troublesome motion in the periphery. Approximately 6% of the female and 1 to 2% of the adult male population have the SSS to varying degrees.
Vision therapy for the SSS is usually provided in optometric offices, along with home training and normally takes several weeks to complete. This same therapy is also effective is for "regular" motion sickness.
This video is an condensed version of the one that has been used by Dr. Gillilan as an educational aid when presenting at optometric conferences, seminars and guest lecture appearances at Pacific University College of Optometry over the years. He identified the SSS and developed the Dynamic Adaptive Vision Therapy (DAVT) for it's cure in 1965 and has successfully trained several hundred SSS patients since that time.
A comprehensive explanation of the SSS and it's treatment can be found at www.SEEsicksyndrome.com . It includes links to a 53 min. demonstration video and a 43 page how-to-manual included in the Pacific University College of Optometry's website.
