Solo on "Doxy" at the Porch, NYC
Sometimes unassuming small gigs are the most fun. It's fun to meet musicians you haven't played with in a while, or you haven't met before, relax and let the music flow naturally.
This my solo on Doxy, one of the great Sonny Rollilns tunes.
Josiah Boornazian on alto, Hirokazu Yokoyama on bass, Faron Tillson on drums, yours truly on Nord Electro (my favorite keyboard!). Recorded March 13th, 2023. The location is a venue in Harlem, close to City College of NY, where I got my bachelor in jazz performance years back. Harlem is alive and kicking, and people are really listening!
